MTB Enduro

Get ready to race in this enduro-style XC MTB event!

The James River Park trails will give local mountain bikers and visiting riders alike a chance to test their skills. The rock gardens, short steep climbs, creek crossings, fast downhills, and twisty single-track trails are both technically challenging and physically demanding. Riders will complete stages at Dogwood Dell, Forest Hill Park, and Belle Isle for a total of 6-8 timed miles. The transition stages (the riding required to get from one stage to the next) are not timed and do not count toward standings. Pedal hard when it counts and take it easy on the in-betweens.

Beginner racers are experienced mountain bikers who are happier traveling down a trail at slower speeds, but still desire to compete against other racers at their skill level.  They are not comfortable on jumps or drops and are working on the fundamentals of cornering.  A beginner can ride most trails and will not hesitate to walk technical sections that they feel are above their riding ability.
